Declan Rice delivers update on his West Ham future amid Manchester United transfer talk

West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice has claimed that he is concentrating on doing his best for the Hammers amid speculation over his future.

Manchester United are said to be interested in making a move for the 20-year-old during the January transfer window, with reports claiming that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to make a £70 million bid for the West Ham man.

Rice has established himself as one of the top young English talents in the Premier League and has established himself as a key member of Manuel Pellegrini's side over the last two seasons.

The England international was named in the starting lineup for the European qualifier against Czech Republic on Friday, but has said that there is no better place for him to continue his development than the London Stadium.

“I signed a five year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at club till I’m 24, and for me this is the best place to be right now," he said (via Manchester Evening News).

“I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in week out.

“I’m improving every week and although I see all this speculation, I don’t really think about it too much.

“It’s all talk until something happens – and nothing has - so I’m just focussed on West Ham, doing my best and making fans happy.”

Rice has played a total of 78 first team games for West Ham.
