Declan Rice decision, Olivier Giroud exit and Tomori talks - Chelsea's January transfer window

After a busy summer window, Chelsea might not be so eager to dip into the transfer market when it re-opens in January.

The Blues made some serious signings to help their first team and make a real push or the Premier League title challenge.

It could be enough or them to really push or the title, and if they are in a good place with injuries, then they might not need to reinforce during the winter.

There is no doubt that the Blues are going to be linked with a lot of players over the month, but many will be just rumours.

The one incoming who the Blues could look to pursue is Declan Rice, a player Chelsea have looked at in the summer.

The issue with Rice is the price tag and how much West Ham would need to even consider letting the 21-year-old go.

It could take a potential of around £80million to even get the Hammers to come to the table, and that could be out of reach.

The other issue with the Blues going after Declan Rice is the fact the squad is too full right now and they would need to cut their squad.

The big potential outgoings are set to be Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri on the agenda, with a centre-back exit also expected.

Fikayo Tomori could be heading out on loan after failing to make the Premier League matchday squads in recent weeks.

Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga could be on the list of potential sales this January, but it might not be possible to move them on.

One of the main transfer stories will be Olivier Giroud, who is expected to push for a move so that he keeps his Euro 2021 spot.

It might not be a busy month for the Blues, but there will be several links made over the course of January.
