Declan Rice breaks silence ahead of Arsenal transfer announcement

Declan Rice has taken to social media to update his fans ahead of his official Arsenal transfer unveiling.

football.london reported back in January that the Gunners had made Rice their priority target for midfield, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his options in the centre of the park. Last month, the north London outfit saw bids of £80million and £90million for the England international rejected by West Ham United, who were holding out for a nine-figure offer.

Eventually, the Hammers got their way, receiving a £105million bid from the Gunners that was accepted in principle. The two sides then hashed out the structure of the payments before full agreement was reached last week.

Arsenal supporters are now waiting for the deal to be officially announcement by the club, with the first team currently in Germany for their pre-season training camp. Now, Rice has taken to Instagram posting pictures of himself training on his own in Portugal.

"Back at it. (Battery emoji)", his caption read alongside some snaps of him running on a field and working out in a gym. The 24-year-old is set to be part of Arsenal's squad for their tour of the USA, according to the Evening Standard.
