Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen among West Ham stars up for Fans' Footballer of the Year award

It has been a year of good memories for West Ham United, with the Hammers having one of their best seasons on record under David Moyes..

Sat in 16th place in the Premier League during the World Cup break, their 2022/23 campaign has not got off to the best of starts, but last season, a seventh place finish and reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League made it one of the most memorable campaigns yet.

In that European run, West Ham knocked out European giants Lyon and Sevilla to reach the last four, only to be defeated by eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

Four players in particular have stood out, becoming nominated for the club’s Fans’ Footballer of the Year Award.

From West Ham's captain fantastic to their prolific winger and their bargain defender, these players have starred and made memorable moments throughout the year.

Declan Rice

West Ham’s captain fantastic Declan Rice has shown why he deserved to fill Mark Noble’s very large shoes. So vital in the Hammers’ run to the Europa League semi-finals and seventh place finish in the Premier League last term and one of a few to have come out of the first half of this season with much credit.

Jarrod Bowen

Top scorer last season and the first half of 2022 saw West Ham often rely on his quality in front of goal, earning him his first four caps for England. A slow start to this season but still the club’s joint-top scorer in the Premier League and joint second overall.

Craig Dawson

For £2million, he has proved to be some signing. Crucial on all fronts last term, earning himself cult hero status and a place in the Europa League team of the season. Even if an exit for him could be on the cards in January, he has hardly put a foot wrong at the London Stadium and completely exceeded expectations.

Michail Antonio

The Jamaican international ended last season with a third straight league campaign of ten league goals for a season. He chipped in with a few in Europe too last season and again, is already on five for the campaign across all competitions, contributing despite Gianluca Scamacca’s arrival.
