Declan Gallagher trolls Aberdeen legend Willie Miller after first St Mirren goal helped topple the Dons

Declan Gallagher offered a tasty response to Dons legend Willie Miller's claim he was an Aberdeen reject.

The St Mirren centre-back and his fellow former Dons colleague Curtis Main were both branded 'rejects' by Miller following last night's game, which the Buddies won 3-1.

Main bagged a brilliant brace, while Gallagher notched his first goal for the Paisley club to help his side soar up to fourth in the Premiership table – keeping Aberdeen seventh in the process.

And Scotland international Gallagher couldn't help but respond this morning, with St Mirren releasing a picture of Gallagher with morning coffee having given the name 'Aberdeen reject'.

Speaking to St Mirren TV after last night's win, Gallagher opened up on just how much it meant to him to finally bag his first goal for the Saints. It was also his first goal since November 2020, when he scored for Motherwell in a 4-1 defeat to Celtic.

He said: "It was a big statement from us as a team that despite losing some key players we are still stronger than ever and we'll keep pushing forward.

"Words can't describe how it feels. I've been fined off all the boys for celebrating with the gaffer, I'll need to take my punishment but it was really sweet that goal.

"I'm delighted with it. At the time when they cleared it off the line I was literally ready to burst into tears. Not because it was against Aberdeen, just because it was my first goal of the season and we've not scored from as many set pieces as we should with our height.

"I saw the offside flag go up and thought the worst. Gogic was telling me it was well over the line though and I was just so happy.

"Each player to a man in their all season has been terrific. The boys to a man were excellent and adding boys like Tony and Thierry in just shows how strong we are. We lost Ethan and Reid but the manager again has pulled out some great signings and we look stronger again."
