Declan Donnelly red-faced as he's forced to interrupt live interview and leave Ant

Dec Donnelly was left a little red-faced on Thursday, when he was forced to interrupt a live interview on ITV's Lorraine mid-chat.

The I'm A Celebrity host appeared alongside pal and co-presenter Ant McPartlin on the show to discuss their latest venture.

But shortly into the chat, Dec appeared distracted before being forced to interrupt Lorraine and their interview.

He then dashed off screen leaving Ant to do all the talking, while fans were pleased to see him back not long after.

Dec had explained his brief departure and the reason he was so distracted - but he also didn't need to as viewers could hear the commotion.

His dog Rocky could be heard barking really loudly in the room he was doing the video call in, with neither of the hosts in the studio with Lorraine.

He quickly explained his dog was making a lot of noise, revealing it was because someone was at the door.

As Rocky kept barking, he declared he needed to just let him out of the room before laughing and heading off to open the door.

Dec Donnelly was in hysterics as he made a brief exit from his live Lorraine interview, leaving pal Ant McPartlin to take over alone (ITV)

Lorraine initially did her best to carry on asking questions, before admitting: "I can hear your wee dog."

Dec replied: "Sorry that's Rocky, there's somebody at the door. I'm going to let him out."

Ant and Lorraine were amused over the moment, saying: "Bye Dec!" as they continued without him.

When Dec returned, Lorraine was desperate to know who was at the door (ITV)

When Dec returned, Lorraine was desperate to know who was at the door but Dec said it was nothing or no one exciting.

He said: "No, it wasn't! I probably shouldn't say that, but no it wasn't very exciting."

Lorraine was all forgiving of the sudden departure, and on return Dec discussed the latest news regarding this year's I'm A Celebrity.

ITV are hoping to return to Australia to film the hit series after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to relocate last year.

But Dec confirmed talks were ongoing as the location remained "up in the air", with them yet to find out if they will be allowed in the country.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
