Declan Donnelly gives emotional best man speech at Ant McPartlin's wedding

Declan Donnelly delivered an emotional best man's speech at his Geordie pal and long time broadcasting partner Ant McPartlin's wedding.

He delivered it yesterday as Ant married his partner Anne-Marie Corbett at St Michael's Church in the village of Heckfield in Hampshire, reports the Mirror.

Dec described Ant as the “best friend a man could have” before reading a prayer for the attendants at the ceremony, according to reports in the Sun.

The Saturday Night Takeaway presenters had arrived at the ceremony together first in matching black tie prior to Anne-Marie’s arrival in a beautiful white gown while carrying a beautiful bouquet of purple and white flowers.

The duo’s close friend Stephen Mulhern also provided many amusing moments at the ceremony, with a guest telling the paper that it gave the event a “light-hearted feel”, reported the Sun.

During Ant’s own wedding speech, he said: “When Anne-Marie walked into the church, I had to fight to hold it together as she looked so beautiful.”

Anne-Marie’s two daughters from her previous marriage also performed readings, one of which is noted to be the romantic poem The Bridge Across The River.

A big party to celebrate the wedding is said to have followed for 150 guests at the country estate of Heckfield Place.

Earlier in the day, Ant and Anne-Marie were seen leaving the church together after the ceremony and looked utterly jubilant.

The couple have been together since 2018 and became engaged when Ant proposed to Anne-Marie on Christmas Eve last year.

Guests who attended the ceremony included This Morning host Phillip Schofield, presenter Cat Deeley and husband Patrick Kielty, Britain's Got Talent judges David Walliams and Alesha Dixon plus presenter Dermot O'Leary.

One person who was unable to make the event was Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden who later apologised for her absence on Instagram.
