Decision over Doherty, Ndombele returns - The Tottenham team Jose Mourinho should pick vs Wolves

Tottenham are back to winning ways following Wednesday night's Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Stoke City.

Having failed to beat Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Leicester in their three previous league games, Jose Mourinho will have his fingers crossed that his side make it two wins on the trot when they travel to Wolves on Sunday.

However, it won't be easy at all at Molineux as the hosts are in need of the points after losing away at Burnley on Monday evening.

Although Nuno Espirito Santo's team did get the better of the Lilywhites at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the start of March, Spurs came out victorious at Wolves 12 months ago courtesy of a late Jan Vertonghen winner.

But who will be in the Spurs XI on Sunday?

We’ve asked our Tottenham writers at football.london to give their thoughts on who should be in Mourinho's side to face Wolves. Here is what they had to say:

Rob Guest - Tottenham Hotspur reporter

Mourinho will freshen his team up at Molineux following the win over Stoke on Wednesday evening.

As he went with a strong spine at the bet365 Stadium with the likes of Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane starting, it will be the players around the quartet that change.

Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld and Sergio Reguilon should all come in across the backline, with Moussa Sissoko restored to the XI in midfield alongside Hojbjerg.

As Giovani Lo Celso is not available for the game due to injury, Tanguy Ndombele should come back into the side as he was not selected at Stoke and he will be raring to go.

While it would be nice to see Erik Lamela back in the XI from the off following his midweek cameo, he just needs to be eased into action after his injury layoff and that means Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn start either side of Kane.

Lee Wilmot - Head of Football for London and the South

Tottenham need a win. And a game against Wolves is not exactly the fixture I would choose out of all of them to need three points from.

I can't see Jose Mourinho making too many changes from the team that lost to Leicester.

I would maybe throw Matt Doherty in at right-back, after Serge Aurier's mistake against the Foxes, with Sergio Reguilon at left-back, flanking the two centre-backs of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier. Hugo Lloris obviously between the sticks behind them.

Ahead of them Tanguy Ndombele should be recalled to play in a three with Moussa Sissoko and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The three up front are Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane for me.

Wilmot's team: Lloris; Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele; Son, Bergwijn, Kane.
