Decision made on Spurs' £450m Nike deal and it's good news for Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is set to be allowed to continue his personal sponsorship deal with adidas, despite his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho is one of adidas' key clients, with the partnership between the Spurs boss and the German company spanning 15 years.

His contract with the sporting brand reportedly nets him around €250,000 per season, even if he is not managing a club.

And according to The Athletic, Tottenham's 15-year kit deal with Nike is not set to affect Mourinho's adidas deal because of his standing in the world game and status as one of their major ambassadors.

Spurs signed a contract worth around £15million-a-year for the American company to produce their kits in October 2018.

And despite the clash between the two huge rival brands, Mourinho can continue to wear adidas products away from Tottenham.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea boss was named as Mauricio Pochettino's replacement last week, and won his first game in charge with a 3-2 victory at West Ham on Saturday.

Speaking after the win, Mourinho said: "I was back where I belong. This is my natural habitat.

"Was I extra emotional? No. Was I nervous before the game? No. But I just love it.

"To confess, the most difficult moments for me in this 11 months was the part of the summer when, for the first time, I didn't have a pre-season.

"I was looking at other managers and clubs doing things. It was a weird feeling."
