Dec Donnelly jokes about Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield's holiday together

TV personality Dec Donnelly has laughed at claims ITV forces This Morning co-stars Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield to go on holiday together.

Dec, who has been vacationing with the duo along with his wife Ali Astall and their baby daughter Isla, joked that there's a clause in Holly and Phil's contract that means they must take at least one foreign trip a year with each other, reports the Mirror Online.

Appearing on Friday's Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, Dec and his good friend Jonathan Wilkes discussed the Portuguese holiday resort where a host of ITV stars have been staying.

"So is it an ITV thing, is it part of your contracts that you get to come here all together in the sunshine?" asked Chris.

"Absolutely," joked Dec.

"It is a laugh though isn't it?" asked the radio host.

"It's brilliant, it's brilliant. And it's all kind of happened organically, we've all holidayed out here in the past and we just seem to meet up here in the August," Dec explained.

"Back at base it does work, because the bonds are there and that permeates throughout all your production teams, they all know that you lot get on and it's good for business, isn't it," said Chris.

"Yeah, absolutely," said Dec.

Jonathan then chipped in to add: "We're all on the same management as well so we all meet up at management parties so it's nice to come out and just be with all the families as well. Good fun."

There was no mention of Dec's on-screen partner Ant McPartlin ahead of the pair's return to presenting duties on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, which starts on August 31 on ITV.
