Debt-ridden farmer found dead

A 62-year-old debt-ridden farmer Kashinath Manikrao Srigeri ended his life by consuming a poisonous substance after failing to repay loans, at Diggi village in Kamalanagar taluk of Bidar district on Sunday.

The deceased farmer had availed himself of loan from a co-operative society and private moneylenders. He owned 16 guntas of rain-fed land.

A case has been lodged at the Kamalanagar Police Station.
