Lanes on the M8 have been shut as a result of fallen medical waste on the carriageway.
Lanes two and five of the M8 westbound between junction 13 and junction 14.
The incident occurred around 10.25am.
Drivers are being told to expect delays of around 10 minutes.
Police and TRISS are currently at the scene.
It's understood the debris is medical waste.
Drivers are being asked to be careful on approach while the area is cleared.
Traffic Scotland have issued updates on Twitter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to attend the M8 in Glasgow, at junction 12 around 11.10am on Sunday, 5 December, following reports of debris in the road.
"Initially lanes 3, 4 and 5 on the Westbound carriageway were shut while the items were cleared. "Lanes 4 and 5 remain closed, with officers still in attendance."
