Orange Line trains were temporarily suspended on the South Side Wednesday because of debris on the tracks.

Trains were standing at the 35th and Archer station about 7 p.m. because of the debris, according to an alert from the Chicago Transit Authority.

Service was suspended between Kedzie and Ashland a few minutes later as crews cleared the tracks, and trains resumed normal service by 8 p.m., the CTA said.

[Major Delays] Orange Line trains are running w/residual delays and congestion following earlier debris on the tracks at 35th/Archer. Service is resuming, allow extra time. More: https://t.co/5wZgM5ESws
