Debenhams has kicked off a 30% sale online despite being on the brink of administration.
Yesterday (April 6th), the popular department store announced that it is set to appoint administrators for the second time in a year.
The retailer claims that by appointing administrators they are protecting the business from going bust.
Stefaan Vansteenkiste, CEO of Debenhams, said: “These are unprecedented circumstances and we have taken this step to protect our business, our employees, and other important stakeholders, so that we are in a position to resume trading from our stores when government restrictions are lifted.
“We are striving to protect jobs and reopen as many Debenhams stores for trading as we can, as soon as this is possible.”
The struggling chain was forced to shut all 142 of its stores after the coronavirus lockdown.
However, customers can still shop online at debenhams.com - while gift cards and refunds are being accepted as normal.
And Debenhams is currently offering discounts of up to 30% off across a number of ranges, so you can fill up your basket without overspending.
Included in the sale is women's, men's and kids' clothing, as well as home and beauty ranges.
Customers should note that if they make a purchase and the company collapses into administration, their order might not be fulfilled and a refund isn't guaranteed.
It's advisable to pay for orders over £100 on your credit card because they're protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Rights Act.
Meaning you'll be able to claim your money back even if the retailer goes bust.

Standard home deliveries could take up to seven working days, while the next-day delivery service is ‘running as usual’.
