Debbie Dingle's best bits and most dramatic Emmerdale storylines as Charley Webb quits

In nearly 20 years on the Dales, it's fair to say Debbie Dingle hasn't left us wanting when it comes to cliff-hangers.

Long-serving actress Charley Webb has reportedly decided she won’t be returning to Emmerdale.

The news comes after her husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, was caught up in race row on set. If she is never seen on the soap again, then bosses will have a huge hole to fill.

Charley is said to be closing the door on Emmerdale for good and won’t be going back and the news has left fans reeling.

There were so many to pick from but here are some of her biggest and best bits, with our favourites from over the years.

Teen mum

Debbie gave birth to her first child when she was only 15 and it was a statement storyline.

Her daughter was born after the character had a brief affair with Andy Sugden.

Unfortunately, little Sarah was suffering from a blood disorder.

The storyline was controversial at the time as bosses decided it was an important subject to raise.

Cameron Seige chaos

The Woolpack Seige of 2013 left everyone gripped (ITV)

Debbie had a volatile relationship with Cameron Murray back in 2013

It eventually led to the Woolpack Seige as he threatening to shoot anyone who tried to escape.

He was on the loose when Debbie and Chas Dingle rumbled his crimes he was consequently arrested and jailed. But Cameron escaped from police custody and returned to the village.

He followed them into cellar as the rain came down and turning the light on electrocuted Cameron, killing him instantly.

Shooting drama

Debbie came close to death - but it wasn't the end of the drama (ITV)

Debbie was shot by loose cannon Ross Barton when his gun went off while confronting Joe Tate.

Ross had been in turmoil since Debbie planned an attack on Joe which went horribly wrong.

It lead to Ross being covered in acid which left his face severely scarred.

Debbie, Ross' then-girlfriend, is left fighting for her life after being shot - and Debbie was found not guilty for her part in Ross' acid attack.

Tom's con trap

Tricky Tom Waterthouse caused chaos - but Debbie fell for his charms (ITV)

Debbie isn't usually a sucker but she was reeled in by Tom Waterhouse.

Her new rich boyfriend, played by Ned Porteous, was the mastermind behind the planned golf course in the village, which would lead to Zak and Lisa's home being torn down.

Starting to work in his office, he cons her into signing some key papers.

Although the betrayal was enormous she would go on to forgive him - but there was to be no happy ending!
