Death of teenager near Strathclyde University 'not suspicious' say police

The death of a teenager near Strathclyde University is not being treated by suspicious by police.

An 18-year-old man was found injured on Rottenrow around 1.50am on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene and he was taken Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Investigations into the death have now concluded that there is no suspicious circumstances involved.

Chief Inspector Craig Walker, Local Area Commander for Glasgow said: “Around.1.50am on Wednesday, 9 December, 2020 emergency services were called to a report of a man found injured in Rottenrow, Glasgow. 

"An 18-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where he died a short time later. 

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
