Death of second-year student confirmed by University of Bristol

An undergraduate student at the University of Bristol has died.

Alex Willis, 21, was in his second year of a neuroscience degree at the institution.

A university spokesperson said they were "very sad" to report Mr Willis's death.

The spokesperson said: "We have offered our support to Alex’s family and friends, and our thoughts and sympathies are with them all at this very difficult time.

"We know the profound impact that the death of one of our students can have on our students and staff.

"We would encourage any members of our community who are affected by this news to make sure they contact university wellbeing services for help, as well as seeking support from their own friends or family.”

No further details have been released at this time.
