Death of Scots dad 'stabbed in neck' treated as 'unascertained' after he died following release from hospital

A postmortem on a tragic dad who died a day after being released from hospital following an alleged blade attack has ruled the cause of death “unascertained”.

Edward Graham was discharged from Forth Valley Royal Hospital on Sunday, but was found dead on Monday in his home in Bainsford, Falkirk.

Known to pals as Eddie, the 28-year-old underwent treatment to his injuries following an incident at a pal’s flat last onThursday.

Neighbours said Eddie had been stabbed in the neck during a disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman last night (TUES) confirmed the postmortem was carried out and the death was now being treated as “unascertained”. Further tests would be conducted and enquiries remained “ongoing”, she added.

Meanwhile, a Go Fund Me page set up after Eddie passed away to help with funeral costs and support his family has beaten its original target of collecting £2000. The page had raised £2245 yesterday and was continuing to gather funds.

The incident which saw Eddie injured took place at around 3am at a flat in Hayfield, Bainsford.

A neighbour who lives in the street said Eddie had joined “four of five people” at the address to have a “drink”.

The resident said: “Something happened and Eddie was supposedly stabbed in the neck.”

The neighbour added: “I heard he’d suffered a severed artery. He was discharged after being in intensive care, but went home and died in his sleep.”

Police were called to an address on Mungalhead Road at 6.45am on Monday where Eddie was pronounced dead at the scene.
