A 40-year-old woman charged with murdering her nine-week-old baby has been remanded in custody after a brief bedside hearing in Adelaide.
The woman is in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being arrested yesterday.
It is alleged she killed her baby son on the morning of December 5 at her Woodville home.
The Port Adelaide Magistrates Court has ordered a psychiatric report, to be done before her next court hearing on January 2.
The woman will be remanded at James Nash House or a similar secure psychiatric facility.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the woman's home on December 5 after receiving "reports of an unresponsive baby".
"Despite the efforts of paramedics, the baby was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in a statement.
Police have not said where the baby was found.
