Death of missing woman found by police officers 'not suspicious'

The death of a missing woman whose body was found by police officers is being treated as not suspicious, police have said.

The body of Carole Williams was found by officers after she went missing from the Clifton area earlier this week.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The matter has now been referred to the coroner.

A police spokesman thanked those who shared the appeal to help find Carole Williams after her disappearance.

"We would like to thank all those who shared our appeal to help find missing woman Carole Williams," he said.

"Sadly Carole was found by officers having passed away. There were no suspicious circumstances.

"The matter has been referred to the coroner."
