Death of man who was found inside crashed car not being treated as suspicious by police

The death of a warehouse worker found with stab injuries in a crashed car is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Ajmal Khan, 29, from Longsight, was found fatally wounded on Greengate Street in Oldham in the early hours of Sunday, September 22.

He was taken to Royal Oldham hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

A police investigation was launched and a 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.

However, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed she has been released with no further action and the case has been closed.

A file of evidence will be passed to a coroner pending a further inquest hearing.

The inquest into Mr Khan's death opened in October and heard that he suffered two stab wounds to the chest.

It was adjourned pending the police investigation.

Mr Khan's death will now be dealt with via the coronial process at Rochdale Coroner's Court.
