Death of man in Scots park 'not suspicious' but police launch probe

A probe has been launched after a man was found dead in a Scots park.

We told how cops swooped on Rouken Glen Park in East Renfrewshire at around 1.20pm yesterday.

A large number of police vehicles and an ambulance were spotted at the popular venue with the entrance reportedly sealed off.

The body of a 35-year-old man was discovered in the park.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious but have launched a probe.

The force has confirmed an examination would take place to determine the cause of death.

A police spokeswoman said: “Around 1.20 pm on Tuesday, 12 January, 2021, a 35-year-old man was found dead within Rouken Glen Park , Glasgow.

“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which police are not treating as suspicious.

“A report will be sent to the (Procurator Fiscal).”
