Death of man in Cumbernauld house 'not suspicious'

The death of a man in Cumbernauld is not believed to be suspicious.

We told yesterday how police were treating the death of the 25-year-old found in a property in Millcroft Road as unexplained.

The man's body was found at around 11.40am on Sunday.

A heavy police presence was reported in the area, with locals reporting seeing forensic officers scouring the scene on Sunday evening.

One woman said: "It looks serious whatever happened as there was six police vehicles and ambulances."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were made aware of the death of a 25-year-old man within a property at Millcroft Road in Cumbernauld shortly after 11.40am on Sunday, 29 December 2019.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
