The death of a man whose body was discovered in South Tyneside is being treated as suspicious.
The man was found dead inside a property on High Street in Jarrow after police were called just after 12pm on Tuesday.
Officers had received a report of concern for the man and when emergency services arrived, the body of a man aged in his 50s was found inside.

The circumstances around the man’s death are being investigated, but at this stage police are treating the death as "suspicious".
A cordon is in place while officers continue to work at the scene.
Northumbria Police say officers are also on patrol if anyone has concerns about the police activity.
