The sudden death of a man near the Portway in Bristol is being treated as non-suspicious, police have said.
There was a heavy police presence on the Portway in Bristol yesterday (April 28) after a body was found.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing around five police cars and ambulances at the scene, near the tunnel close to Bridge Valley Road, at around 12pm.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary has now confirmed the death is being treated as non-suspicious.
“The matter has been referred to the coroner as a non-suspicious sudden death," he said.

"We will continue to make enquiries on behalf of the coroner."
The force previously described the death as unexplained, saying: “We were called at just before midday after a member of the public found the body of a man on land off the Portway.
“The man’s death is being treated as unexplained and we are making efforts to identify him and locate his next of kin.”
