The death of a five-month-old baby in West Lothian is being investigated by police.

A home in the Ladywell area of Livingston has been cordoned off following the child's death, which is being treated as "unexplained" by Police Scotland.

The baby was brought to St John's Hospital and pronounced dead on Friday. Officers were called to the property on Scott Brae the same day.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police in West Lothian are investigating after a five-month-old baby boy from the Ladywell area died in St John’s Hospital on Friday, November 15.

"The death is being treated as unexplained pending further enquiries and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
