Death of elderly woman in Scots village reported to Procurator Fiscal after murder probe launched

The death of an elderly woman in a Scots village has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A murder investigation was launched after the body of a 74-year-old woman was found at a property on The Engine Green in Fishcross, Clackmannanshire, at the weekend. She was later named by police as Catherine Pryde.

A post-mortem examination was carried out by officers, who confirmed they were treating the incident as murder. Following inquiries, detectives have since sent a report on the circumstances surrounding her death to the Procurator Fiscal.

Catherine's family have continued to ask for their privacy to be respected.

A Police Scotland statement reads: "Following on from our release relating to the death of a 74-year-old woman in Fishcross on Sunday, March 19, we can confirm that a report on the circumstances has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal. The family continue to ask for their privacy to be respected."
