Death In Paradise star Danny John-Jules breaks silence on absence from series 10

Danny John-Jules has finally broken his silence over his absence from the 10th series of Death In Paradise.

The actor - who played Dwayne Myers in the hit BBC drama  - is still missed by fans after his exit.

Danny left the murder mystery drama in series seven, when his character Dwayne left for travels with his long lost dad, Nelson.

And as series 10 returned to screens last week, fans were curious to see why Dwayne doesn't come back for even a cameo.

Although fans were treated to a host of familiar faces on the show, Dwayne's absence was felt most as viewers rushed to Twitter to question the storyline.

One viewer asked: "Will Dwayne Myers ever make comeback. He is missed!"

Danny replied: "They haven’t missed me since S7."

Another said: “#DeathinParadise What happened to Dwayne? Loved him (and all the characters).”

The fan then added: "Amazingly [he was written out] at the end of series seven when his father returned from London.

"I am at such a loose end that I went back over the episodes to find out.”

Danny then responded to the tweet, writing: "And I thought Dwayne was #Baffled.”

Other fans made it known that Dwayne's presence was missed, as one fan wrote: "#DeathInParadise definitely lacking without Ruby and Dwayne."

"Not the same without Dwayne. #DeathInParadise," another chimed in.

In reply to another fan, Danny explained where his character could be now.

He wrote: "Dwayne Myers has been sent to Washington to teach the Police how to man a barrier outside a Government Building ..."

But he suggested to another fan how the character could return to the show - alongside another former star.

He said: "Imagine if Dwayne and Fidel came back married.... I mean, you can get away with anything in showbiz!!"

Executive producer Tim Key refuses to rule out the possibility of Danny returning in the future..

“Never say never. But, that’s all I can say. I'm trying to be mysterious like it's something big," he said recently.

“The joyous thing is we do genuinely stay in touch and I'm in touch with Kris (Humphries) quite often as well.

“You know I think that because they've got such affection for the show we wouldn't rule anything out if there was a good story to tell.”
