An independent watchdog says it is working to understand the death of a driver at an Avonmouth scrap metal dealership.
Avon and Somerset police confirmed last Thursday (July 8) that a man had "fallen from height" at commercial premises in Avonmouth and been pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Sims Metal revealed on Monday (July 12) that the incident happened at the business' site off St Andrew's Road.

Now a spokeswoman for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has said: "HSE is aware of the incident and is working with the police to understand the circumstances."
The HSE is the national independent watchdog for work-related health, safety and illness.
Sims Metal said on Monday: "We regret to confirm that a third party driver passed away at our Avonmouth site on Thursday morning.
"Presently, the cause of death is unknown. Once we have additional information to share, we will be able to provide the appropriate level of detail.
"We are fully cooperating with the emergency services and the relevant authorities, and we will participate in all necessary aspects of their investigations around the incident.
"We would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased."
Police say the man's death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
