A weekly ticket lottery has been announced for the West End premiere of Dear Evan Hansen.

Preview performances for the musical begin today at the Noel Coward Theatre, and audience hopefuls can sign up for the £25 ticket lottery with the first draw taking place on Wednesday November 13.

It has also been announced that the show has extended booking until May 2 2020, with more tickets on sale for new dates.

Dear Evan Hansen tells the tale of an anxious schoolboy who finds himself the centre of attention when he tells a lie that spirals out of control.

Newcomer Sam Tutty plays the lead role of Evan Hansen, having recently graduated from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and taken part in open auditions in February.

The musical debuted on Broadway with Ben Platt in the lead, and was met with six Tony Awards in 2017, including for best musical and best original score. The music and lyrics were composed by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting team behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land.

Michael Greif returns to direct the show with the original Broadway creative team, including Danny Mefford’s choreography, scenic design by David Korins, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by Japhy Weideman, sound by Nevin Steinberg and music supervision by Alex Lacamoire.
