Dear Evan Hansen's London star Sam Tutty sings For Forever with three other Evans

Broadway hit Dear Evan Hansen has finally touched down on English soil and in celebration of its first night of previews, a video has been released of lead Sam Tutty performing one of the songs.

Tutty harmonises with the stars of the Broadway, American tour and Toronto productions in a new arrangement of For Forever.

Newcomer Tutty was selected after a round of open auditions, and makes his West End debut as Evan Hansen, a socially anxious schoolboy who gets his wish of being the centre of attention when he tells a lie that spirals out of control.

Excitement has been building around the transfer of the Broadway musical, which won six Tony Awards in 2017, including for best musical and best original score. It has a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by The Greatest Showman songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Michael Greif returns to direct the show with the original Broadway creative team, including Danny Mefford’s choreography, scenic design by David Korins, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by Japhy Weideman, sound by Nevin Steinberg and music supervision by Alex Lacamoire, who created the new arrangement for this video.

A weekly ticket lottery was announced yesterday for the musical, and booking has been extended until May 2 2020 with more tickets on sale for new dates.
