A 19-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving an off-road motorcycle in Livingston.
Police closed Deans North Road for five hours on Monday night following the accident. They say that on off-road style KTM motorcycle and a black Vauxhall Corsa were involved in the smash at the junction leading to Deans roundabout.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8.40pm and the motorcyclist, aged 19, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. The driver of the Corsa, a 49-year-old man, was uninjured.
The road was closed off to traffic while investigations were carried out. It was eventually reopened at around 1.40am.
Police want anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.
Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick of the Edinburgh road policing unit said: “Enquires into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not already spoken to police to contract us.
“We are also appealing to anyone that may have been in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen either vehicle prior to the crash or has relevant dash-cam footage.”
