Deanna Booher dead: Spaceballs star and Matilda The Hun WWE wrestler dies at 73

Actress and professional wrestler Deanna Booher has sadly died at the age of 73.

Deanna, who starred in WWE wrestling under the name Matilda The Hun, was well known for her appearances in Spaceballs and Married With Children.

Her cause of death has not yet been announced.

WWE said in a statement: "We are saddened to learn that Deanna Booher, better known as "Matilda The Hun" and beloved by fans all over the world, passed away at the age of 73.

"Our sincerest thoughts are with her family, friends and those affected by her passing. ... WWE extends its condolences to Booher's family, friends and fans."

They added: "Born in Southern California, Booher would spend much of her life in the spotlight as a pioneer in sports-entertainment.

"After helping the wrestling team at El Camino Junior College win a state championship, Booher made her professional debut as the masked Queen Kong.

"Booher broke through competing as the feared Matilda The Hun in the innovative Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) promotion.

"Outside of the ring, Booher appeared in movies such as Spaceballs and Brainsmasher… A Love Story, the television shows Married… with Children and Night Court, and even in the Aerosmith music video for Love in an Elevator."

Deanna started her wrestling career in the 1980s as an amateur mud wrestler.

She would take on men and women in California, making her name in the industry.

Thanks to her hard work, she went on to star in GLOW, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, before dipping into the film industry.

Deanna is famed for making appearances in Spaceballs, Brainsmasher... A Love Story and Theodore Rex.

Fans have since shared their tributes to the wrestler and actress following the tragic news.

One person tweeted: "With a heavy heart I have learned of the passing of the great Matilda The Hun. She was a powerhouse and a amazonian goddess.

A second shared: "Rest in power Queen. You were an inspiration to me and all Glow fans."

"R.I.P. Matilda The Hun," a third added.

"I made an album in honor of Matilda and all the ladies of Glow in 2018 Cheers to you #Matilda The Hun. Tonight i raise a glass to you," a fourth penned.
