DeAngelo Williams rips Dave Gettleman after Odell Beckham trade

When the New York Giants opted not to place the franchise tag on safety Landon Collins and he subsequently walked out the door, former Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman took that as an opportunity to rip general manager Dave Gettleman.

Norman, of course, was famously stripped of the franchise tag in Carolina after Gettleman and his representation couldn’t come to an agreement on a long-term deal, which led to the cornerback signing with the Washington Redskins.

At the time of that decision, it caused a major uproar in Carolina that was only compounded by Gettleman also showing running back DeAngelo Williams the door.

In the aftermath of those decisions, Williams shredded Gettleman publicly, calling him a snake and spending the next several years taking potshots with every opportunity that presented itself.

On Tuesday night, after news broke that the Giants had agreed to a trade that would send Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, Williams saw it as the latest chance to rip his former GM.

Williams certainly wasn’t the only person to rip Gettleman on Tuesday night — the entire football world did — but he’s among a small handful who made it personal. Again.
