DeAndre Yedlin 'offered terms' by Turkish outfit as Newcastle prepare for January window

Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin is a target of Turkish side Trabzonspor ahead of the January window opening on Friday.

The right-back has won his place back in Steve Bruce's line-up but will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Trabzonspor are trying to sign Yedlin on a free transfer and are hoping that the Magpies can come to a settlement on his remaining wages.

Trabzonspor finished second in the Turkish Super Lig last term but are currently sitting in ninth spot.

With Emil Krafth and Javier Manquillo able to play right-back, any potential interest in Yedlin may interest Steve Bruce as he knows he must trim his squad down to make room for January arrivals.

Chronicle Live understands that while spending money for the winter recruitment period may be held over until the summer window, Bruce has loan options in mind.

Newcastle have looked closely at Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams who can operate at left-back and right-back with the 20-year-old deemed a good option by Bruce if he becomes available.

Yedlin's exit would clear the way for an incoming loan but Newcastle are also looking to offload Christian Atsu, Rolando Aarons, Henri Saivet and Achraf Lazaar this January.

CBS Sports are reporting that Yedlin has already been offered terms by Trabzonspor with his agent currently assessing all options available to him.

Yedlin had previously been linked with clubs in Germany and Major League Soccer, the stage where he made his name with Seattle Sounders.

Since joining Newcastle in 2016 to help the club get out of the Sky Bet Championship, Yedlin has played 121 times for the club and scored three goals.

Despite talks about a new deal the 27-year-old has not reached an agreement but Bruce had no issues giving him a squad place despite his contract status last summer.
