DeAndre Yedlin fronts up after penalty blunder against Crystal Palace

DeAndre Yedlin has insisted he and his Newcastle United team-mates must move on quickly after their disappointing Newcastle 0-1 Crystal Palace: Wasted chances and Lejeune's injury prove costly - 5 things we learned

The US international almost put his side in front in the second half with a fizzing shot at the Gallowgate End but ended up costing United three points when upending Wilfried Zaha with 10 minutes left.

Luka Milivojević calmly converted after Stuart Attwell had awarded the late spot-kick and Yedlin faced up to the situation after the game .

He said: “I can’t really argue with the ref on that as I know I caught him.

“I don’t think I slid in and tried to take him down, I slowed down and caught him.

“I did catch him so I can’t argue with the ref’s decision.”

Newcastle now face Leicester City on Friday night at the King Power Stadium as they look to stave off the threat of the drop.
