DeAndre Jordan cracks joke about emoji-filled night the Clippers locked him in his own house

DeAndre Jordan is a Brooklyn Net now, but he hasn’t forgotten The Great NBA Emoji War of 2015 that ended with the center changing his mind and staying with the Los Angeles Clippers instead of the Dallas Mavericks.

It started with Clippers players driving to Jordan’s house — Blake Griffin tweeted a photo of a barricaded door! — and ended with the center publicly apologizing to the Mavs for having “a change of heart.”

Jordan ended up joining the Mavericks a few years later, and now that he’s a Net, reporters wanted to know how he joined forces with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Jordan reported there was a late-night FaceTime session. Then he added this:

“It wasn’t as exciting as me getting locked in my house a few years ago.”

He’s right.
