DeAndre Hopkins crowns Texans WR Will Fuller: ‘A real number 1’

DeAndre Hopkins is a three-time All-Pro, and the Arizona Cardinals receiver made his reputation as one of the league’s elite receivers even before the Houston Texans drafted Deshaun Watson in the first-round of 2017.

In fact, Hopkins earned his first All-Pro selection with the Texans in 2017 when Watson tore his ACL on Nov. 2 midway through the season.

For Hopkins, it has always been about what he can do to be great, not so much the quarterback he is working with.

On Thanksgiving during the Texans’ Week 12 game with the Detroit Lions, after seeing Fuller catch two touchdown catches, Hopkins took to Twitter to coronate his former teammate.

The Texans never had the full experience of two No. 1 wideouts when Hopkins was with Houston as Fuller was struggling with injuries during his first four seasons. In 2020, as the Texans’ passing game has had to remake itself after Hopkins being traded to the Cardinals, Fuller has stepped up to the occasion.
