DeAndre Hopkins appears uninspired with idea of being traded to Jets

Trade speculation has continued swirling around the Arizona Cardinals and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins as the team looks to get a fresh start following the roller coaster regime of Kliff Kingsbury and Steve Keim. One of the teams speculated to be a landing spot for Hopkins is the New York Jets. However, Hopkins doesn’t seem keen on the idea.

He obviously couldn’t come right out and say anything, but on an appearance with the All Things Covered podcast, Hopkins was asked to share a body language reaction to a few potential teams. When the Jets were mentioned, Hopkins didn’t exactly jump for joy.

The Jets don’t necessarily need Hopkins, but the extra juice would certainly help the Jets. That said, if the Jets were to look to trade for Hopkins, he is owed almost $34 million over the next two seasons. The Jets currently have about $8 million in cap space, per Over the Cap, and still need to factor in draft picks and, of course, the eventual acquisition of Aaron Rodgers. This likely won’t be a match made in heaven.
