Dean Spanos shuts down rumors of Chargers to London

The Athletic’s Vincent Bonsignore sparked a firestorm last night when he reported that Chargers would be willing to listen if the NFL asked them about moving to London.

Today, team owner Dean Spanos came out and denied the report that he would consider moving the team across the Atlantic Ocean.

“It’s [expletive]. We’re not going to London. We’re not going anywhere. We’re playing in Los Angeles. This is our home, and this is where we are planning to be for a long [expletive] time. Period,” Spanos said, per ESPN’s Eric D. Williams.

The Chargers’ official Twitter account wasted no time doing what they do best to reiterate that they’re staying put in L.A. In this case, they played the famous clip of Leonardo DiCaprio’s “I’m not leaving” speech from “The Wolf of Wall Street”:

The Chargers and Rams are slated to move into their new stadium in 2020.
