Dean Smith provides Jack Grealish update amid Manchester United links

Dean Smith insists Aston Villa will do everything in their power to keep Jack Grealish at the club.

The 24-year-old has been a star performer in the Premier League this season with a number of standout performances which have led to increased speculation regarding a summer move away.

Reports suggest the Villa captain could look to move at the end of the season, particularly if his side are relegated to the Championship, and he won't be short of suitors.

Manchester United, Leicester and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the attacking midfielder who has netted 7 goals in 23 league outings this campaign.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer and Grealish certainly fits their transfer policy as one of the brightest young British talents.

However, Villa manager Smith reiterated his desire to keep Grealish and insists the club owners also feel the same way about the young Englishman.

“We’ve got two magnificent owners who want this club to be successful," Smith said.

“They have got an awful lot of money which they’ve earned through their hard work in their businesses.

“They know that if you want to be a successful team you have to keep your best players. They will be working very hard to make sure our best players stop at this football club.

“That’s the best answer I can give about Jack.”
