Dean Smith delivers Jack Grealish transfer update amid Tottenham and Man United links

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has said that the club will not be selling Jack Grealish during the January transfer window, as they look to fight off relegation from the Premier League.

The midfielder's performances in the Premier League so far this season have caught the eye of many clubs. He scored Villa's second goal in the 2-1 win against Burnley, prompting fans to call for their club to make a move for the 24-year-old.

Spurs have been long term admirers of the midfielder, with the club heavily linked with a summer move for the Villa man.

However, that move never materialised, and Grealish went on to play the first half of the season at Villa Park, scoring six goals and providing five assists in his 19 league appearances.

Manchester United have now been linked with a January move, but ahead of the FA Cup game against Fulham, Smith has revealed the stance that his club will take on Grealish's future throughout the window.

"I think he's a big target for many teams and you can see why," he said, as reported by the Mirror .

"He's a top player but as I've said before, our owners are very ambitious and want to establish us as a top Premier League club.

"To do that you have to keep your best players, so we'll be keeping hold of Jack Grealish.

"People can keep looking but they can't touch.”
