Dean Smith changes Leicester City plans ahead of crucial Liverpool clash

Leicester City manager Dean Smith is thought to have changed his plans for the week as the relegation-threatened side prepare to face Liverpool on Monday night.

The Foxes slipped into the bottom three on Monday after they lost at Fulham and then saw relegation rivals Everton and Nottingham Forest pick up three points.

Liverpool will go into the game at the King Power Stadium having won their last six matches to drag themselves back into contention for a Champions League spot. The Reds are now just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

Leicester found themselves 3-0 down to Fulham at half-time before losing 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller. They now sit 18th in the league and two points from safety.

And according to the Telegraph, the Foxes squad were due to have a day off on Tuesday, but that was cancelled by Smith and his coaching staff. The players were instead told to report to the training ground, where there were meetings to analyse the defeat to the Cottagers and the severity of the situation the club finds itself it.

The decision to cancel the day off on Tuesday was mentioned by star player James Maddison and Smith in their post-match interviews following the defeat at Craven Cottage. Maddison said that they were due in at the training ground on Tuesday, while in a post-match interview with BBC Radio Leicester, Smith said that a debrief would take place.
