Dean Rock's uncle was extra-pleased with his nephew after Dublin's five-in-a-row triumph, after a bet placed four years ago netted him almost a thousand euro.
Jerry Rock picked up €840 after betting €40 back in 2015 that Dean and the rest of the history-making team would win the unprecedented championship by 2019.
And when he went to collect the money from a local Paddy Power, there was a bottle of prosecco waiting for him to celebrate with.
Speaking to The Star, Rock said: "I am delighted with my prediction but most importantly I am delighted the Dubs made history.
"I watched the match at Cremore House in Ballygall on Saturday and the place was jammers, there was a great atmosphere there and sure we partied all night long."
Dublin achieved immortality on Saturday evening after seeing off Kerry to claim the first five-in-a-row in GAA history.
Eoin Murchan, parachuted into the team after the drawn game, struck the game’s only goal 10 seconds into the second half to set Dublin on their way to glory as the Kerry challenge faded in the final quarter.
The victory sets Dublin apart from the Wexford footballers of 1915-18, the Kerry footballers of 1929-32 and 1978-81, the Cork hurlers of 1941-44 and the Kilkenny hurlers of 2006-09 as the first team ever to win five All-Irelands in succession.
