Dean Henderson reacts to 'dream' Manchester United debut

Dean Henderson said it is a dream come true to have finally made his debut for Manchester United.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper kept a clean sheet on his first start for the club as United defeated Championship side Luton 3-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Goals from Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood secured the win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who will face the winners of Preston vs Brighton in the fourth round next week.

The scoreline was rather comfortable for United by the end of the match, but things could have been much different had debutant Henderson not produced a fine save with the score at 1-0.

Despite being a spectator for large parts of the match Henderson burst into action towards the end of the match when he reacted well at the near-post to deny a header from Tom Lockyer.

Henderson's debut came nine years after he joined the club's academy and after the game he tweeted his delight at finally representing the club at senior level.

"I dreamt about this my whole life!!" Henderson wrote on social media after the match. "Unbelievable feeling to make my debut for the club I love! Clean sheet and a win to top it off!!!"
