Dean Henderson has been left out of Manchester United's squad for their pre-season tour of Australia - with the England Under-21 goalkeeper expected to seal a loan move back to Sheffield United.
Henderson spent the 2018-19 campaign at Bramall Lane and helped the Blades to promotion to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old played in all 46 league games as Chris Wilder's side secured a top-flight berth for the first time since the 2006-07 campaign.
He is due to pen fresh terms at Old Trafford before returning to South Yorkshire on another season-long agreement.
Speaking on a potential reunion with Henderson, Blades boss Wilder said: "Dean made it clear to us that he has a very strong interest in coming back to Bramall Lane, and Manchester United are happy to go along with that.
“He wants his United contract sorted out first of all but, in terms of putting another temporary deal in place, I think we’re in a good place with that one.
“United are pleased with what happened when he came here, with the way his game developed and the way he progressed over the course of the year.
“He’s rated very highly at Old Trafford and you can understand why. Dean was outstanding for us last season and being able to bring him back again for another year would be brilliant.”
Henderson came through the youth ranks at United and has also enjoyed loan spells at Stockport, Grimsby and Shrewsbury.
David De Gea, Lee Grant, Joel Pereira and Sergio Romero are the four goalkeepers travelling to Australia with United.
Midfielder Fred and defender Matteo Darmian have been left out due to 'family reasons' - although both are expected to join up with the squad later in the tour.
