Dean Henderson and Victor Lindelof named in Manchester United squad vs West Ham

Dean Henderson has been included in Manchester United's squad to play West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

The United stopper contracted COVID in pre-season and struggled to recover from the virus, but he's been in full training at Carrington for three weeks now and he's made a full return to fitness, which sees him named back in United's squad.

The Manchester Evening News also understand that Henderson is expected to start against West Ham at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof is in United's squad for Wednesday's game against West Ham and that's despite the Swedish centre-back not travelling down to London on Sunday with the remainder of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sides as they won 2-1 thanks to Jesse Lingard's goal.

Solskjaer confirmed after that game that Lingard would start against West Ham in the Carabao Cup fixture and the United boss also revealed that Alex Telles and Phil Jones would be named in the squad - the pair have duly been included, as promised.

Jones hasn't played for United's first team since January 2020 against Tranmere in the FA Cup, but after successfully completing his rehabilitation from injury, it's possible the 29-year-old could make an appearance against West Ham.

Solskjaer has commended Jones for battling his injury and speaking openly about mental health this week.

It's understood David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo will be among those rested for West Ham's visit.

Edinson Cavani's wait to return to action for United continues as the centre-forward recovers from a 'strain' sustained during the international break.

Squad: Henderson, Heaton, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Lindelof, Jones, Bailly, Telles, McTominay, Matic, Van de Beek, Fernandes, Mata, Lingard, Elanga, Sancho, Martial, Greenwood.
