Dean Gaffney recently announced that he became a grandad at the age of 43.
And the actor says, that due to most of his friends becoming dads, not grandfathers, that there is not many people he can call on for advice - apart from EastEnders star Danny Dyer, also 43.
So in a bid to pick up a few tips on navigating his new role - after his 24-year-old daughter Chloe recently gave birth to a daughter named Mimi - the former Robbie Jackson star is eager to quiz Danny - whose daughter Dani Dyer welcomed son Santiago this year - on how best to play the part of doting grandad.
EastEnders legend Dean told The Sun on Sunday : "I’m so proud. Lots of my mates are becoming dads, but I’m a grandad at the same age.
"The only person I know who’s in the same boat as me is Danny Dyer, who has a grandchild at 43.
He said: "I’ll be calling him for tips. We could do grandaddy daycare together."
Last week, Dean revealed the happy news that his family was growing when he took to Instagram on Tuesday.
He posted an adorable snap with newborn Mimi and penned: "Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi.
"I am very happy to announce I am a GRANDAD."
He continued: "I can’t believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement. Chloe and Declan you’re going to be amazing parents. Baby Mimi, born: 07.07.2021.. 7 pound 14oz."
Dean went on to make light of the fact he was a slightly younger grandfather by teasing: "Just to thank everyone in advance, I know I don’t look old enough to be a father let alone a grandfather!"
Mimi is the daughter of Chloe – one of Deans twin daughters, that includes his other daughter Charlotte, that he shares with ex-partner Sarah Burge.
