Dean Gaffney admits he treated ex Rebekah badly amid EastEnders return plea

Dean Gaffney, best known for having played Robbie Jackson on EastEnders, has opened up about his split from ex Rebekah Rose-Ward.

The actor admitted that he had treated Rebekah badly while they were together.

The 42-year-old, who was married to Rebekah for three years, revealed: "I've suffered real heartbreak. It was a very passionate relationship."

He then went on to say: "But by the end we were just in this vicious circle where I didn't treat her right and she didn't treat me right.

"Looking back, I was probably selfish. I should have put her first and had her back. I do regret that," he added to the Sun.

The former EastEnders actor then admitted that he thought he could win her back after the break-up.

"I didn't think she would walk away in the end but she did. I thought I would be able to win her back - but I couldn't," he finished.

Gaffney is going to be appearing on E4's new series of Celebs Go Dating in which he will try to find love again.

However, given his rather spotted history in the romance department, he might not find it too easy.

Dean has a string of sexual escapades with porn stars, hotel clerks, models and sex workers.

For instance, in 1999, Dean had a fling with a porn star called Nicky while his wife was at home looking after their twin daughters.

In 2003, Dean invited 24-year-old Michelle to his hotel penthouse for an orgy who claimed, "his hands were all over me like an octopus".

In that same year, Dean persuaded five girls to have sex with him, and one of them, Katie, said: "He used what fame he has left to get what he wanted."

In 2001, Dean ended up in bed with a well-known model who complained about his spotty skin, holey underpants and said he was "terrible in bed" because he was unable to last, according to her, longer than 30 seconds.

A prostitute also claimed that in 2007 she had met Dean through a porn website and he asked her to perform kinky acts for him, but then refused to pay her.

During his interview, Dean also admitted that he wants to return to the BBC in the future following his sacking from EastEnders in October 2019.

This came after a string of alcohol and kiss-and-tell related incidents. However, Gaffney hinted that he might be able to return to the soap.

"I think EastEnders just thought enough is enough - and I don't blame them," he admitted.

"They said to me, 'You are either really bad at picking women or you need to sort it out and find out why you're doing these things'."

The actor then revealed that he understood their decision, yet did think it was "harsh".

"I took on board what they said and I 100 per cent respect their decision. I did think it was harsh, but then I understand they had to act on it," he said.
