Dealer locked up after police found drugs and cash at his home in Clifton

A drug dealer was locked up after police raided his Clifton home and found an illicit haul worth nearly £10,000.

Officers also discovered £1,385 profits in the bedroom of Brad Price, Nottingham Crown Court heard. Scales and a list of debtors were seized.

Judge John Burgess told him: "This was not a small operation, the drugs would have been worth perhaps as much as £10,000. It was street dealing."

And he pointed out that some of the drugs were listed as Class A, the most dangerous range. Price was jailed for three years and the £1,385 was confiscated.

Andrew Peet, prosecuting, said that police raided Price's home on Leverton Green, Clifton on June 30, 2016. He was at home with his mother Angela and other people were present.

While officers were trying to enter, they looked through the glass front door and "heard people going up and down stairs," said Mr Peet.

When Price's mother was challenged, three wraps of cocaine were found in her bra. Cling film was found among other suspect items while the drugs included cocaine worth over £4,000.

"This had a relatively high purity as far as cocaine is concerned. It was 75per cent pure," said Mr Peet.

Officers also found heroin which was tested and turned out to be 56per cent pure.

Price declined to answer questions during a police interview. The judge ordered the confiscation of the cash.

Mr Peet added: "The entirety of the money is the proceeds of drug trafficking."

On January 10, 2017, Price admitted having drugs with intent to supply other people. He will be released on licence halfway through the term.

Steve Ramsell, mitigating, described Price as being "ashamed." While being in custody, he had been moved to Sudbury Open Prison.

"He is a trusted prisoner of Category D status, not a person as a risk of violent conduct, disruption or of absconding from prison.

"His mindset is of a person who has very clearly turned a corner, put offending behind him and ultimately looking into a new life," added Mr Ramsell.

His mother is due to be sentenced on April 25. Her bail was extended.
